Pawns of Change describes my attempt to probe the progressive movement, which is currently synonymous with the Democratic Party. A pawn is a powerful chess piece when used appropriately. The progressive movement in America has used the black community as a pawn on the chessboard of politics to advance its own agenda and “fundamentally change” America. This is a deliberate and malicious exploitation of the community

Through the spotlight of self-analysis, Pastor Broden considers our communities' political choices and the absence of genuine leadership to efficiently advance the ambitions, hopes, and dreams of black Americans. Self-analysis is good and will perhaps aid in the needed turnaround for our distressed communities and help move blacks toward dreaming and setting goals again. Pawns of Change can contribute to a necessary evaluation of what can be done to change our community for good.
